Announcing Ivies+ 2011
The 2011 Ivies+ Access Services Symposium was held at Cornell University June 6-7, 2011, with a theme of resource sharing.
The 2011 Symposium provided an opportunity for access services practitioners to share experiences, insights and best practices with each other. The Symposium was attended by Access Services staff from the traditional Ivy League institutions (Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn, Princeton, Yale) as well as similar research institutions (such as U. Chicago, Stanford, Rutgers, MIT, NYU, U. Conn, Johns Hopkins and Duke). Librarians from institutions near Cornell (e.g. Ithaca College, Syracuse, TC3) also attended.
Each year the objectives of the Symposium are to:
- Exchange information about what each of our institutions are currently doing or planning for the near term.
- Explore challenges confronting Access Services.
- Discuss solutions that may be applicable to other institutions.
The 2011 Symposium included keynote speaker Damon Jaggars, Associate University Librarian for Collections and Services, Columbia University. The concurrent sessions and "Lightning Round" session are described on the Program Schedule page.
